50CUT, formerly Mush Foods, an Israeli hybrid meat startup, chose New Jersey as its U.S. base due to the state’s strategic location and access to world-class educational institutions. Their journey began when they discovered New Jersey through Choose New Jersey’s website, which effectively leveraged search engine optimization (SEO) to ensure visibility. Following this, representatives from Choose New Jersey met with 50CUT at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, where the startup expressed interest in establishing a U.S. presence. Through this connection, 50CUT secured a space at the prestigious Rutgers Food Innovation Center (FIC), a facility renowned for supporting food industry innovations.
To aid 50CUT in its expansion, Choose New Jersey connected them with key state organizations such as the New Jersey-Israel Commission, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), and the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP). This network of resources played a crucial role in helping the company navigate its expansion efforts. With these partnerships and support from the New Jersey Business Action Center (NJBAC), 50CUT signed a lease at the FIC in September, setting the stage for its continued growth in the United States.
