Celltrion advanced its U.S. growth strategy by agreeing to acquire Eli Lilly’s drug-substance manufacturing site and staff in Branchburg. The lead originated through the New Jersey Asia Pacific Center as Celltrion’s CDMO unit evaluated U.S. expansion options. In partnership with JLL, Assemblywoman Ellen Park, the BioFutures team at Raritan Valley Community College, and ONYX, Choose New Jersey organized a full-day tour showcasing the state’s biomanufacturing strengths. While the CDMO team explored greenfield opportunities, Celltrion’s Biosimilars unit conducted due diligence on the Lilly facility. New Jersey’s coordinated engagement helped reinforce the company’s decision to establish its U.S. manufacturing footprint in Branchburg.

Paramount signed a 10-year lease at 1888 Studios in Bayonne. The agreement represents a major win for New Jersey’s rapidly expanding film industry and underscores the state’s emergence as a hub for large-scale media production. Backed by state incentives and strong public-private collaboration, the deal was facilitated by the unified leadership of the NJEDA, Bayonne officials, and Choose New Jersey, with support from the New Jersey West Coast Center.  Paramount is a designated Studio Partner making it eligible for a 40% tax credit on qualified production expenses. Once complete, 1888 Studios will be the largest campus-style facility of its kind in the Northeast, creating thousands of jobs and positioning New Jersey as a national leader in film and television production.

The Israeli hybrid meat startup 50CUT (formerly Mush Foods) worked with Choose New Jersey in 2023 to establish a United States presence at the Rutgers Food Innovation Center (FIC). Our business development officers introduced 50CUT to the New Jersey-Israel Commission, the NJEDA, New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, and the New Jersey Business Action Center. With these connections, they were able to sign a lease at FIC.

Choose New Jersey engaged representatives from Enzene Biosciences, Ltd., during a business attraction mission to India in 2022. We assisted the company by connecting it with in-state partners and universities. When Enzene announced it would open a $50 million biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant on the Princeton West Innovation Campus in Hopewell, New Jersey, we sent out a press release, including a quote from Governor Phil Murphy, ensuring media outlets knew about the expansion. Several news publications, including Business Facilities and Fierce Pharma, published stories about Enzene based on the press release.
