Applegreen, the Irish-founded petrol forecourt and travel plaza operator, has seen great success in New Jersey since relocating its U.S. Travel Plaza Headquarters to Glen Rock in 2022. The move was the result of an ongoing collaboration between Applegreen and Choose New Jersey, dating back to an economic mission to Ireland in 2019. This relocation represented a $126 million investment and added 100 jobs to the state, primarily in finance, logistics, and administration. The strategic location in Northern New Jersey provides the company access to several major states and airports, positioning it for continued expansion in the region.
Beyond establishing its headquarters, Applegreen is also redeveloping 21 major service plazas across New Jersey, with an emphasis on modernizing the infrastructure to include electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. These projects are expected to generate an additional 800 jobs, bringing significant economic and employment benefits to the state. With over 250 sites across 18 states, Applegreen’s commitment to New Jersey marks an important step in enhancing the region’s transportation infrastructure while promoting sustainable travel solutions.
