Choose New Jersey Marks 15 Years of Growth, Delivers $1 Billion in Economic Impact in 2025

Organization celebrates 15 years of driving economic growth and is poised for an even stronger decade ahead

Newark, NJ — Choose New Jersey, the state’s leading nonprofit business attraction organization, today released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting the $1 billion in economic impact generated last year through assistance to 60 companies relocating or expanding in New Jersey – creating or retaining more than 2,500  jobs.

“Choose New Jersey continues to help drive New Jersey’s economic growth, create jobs, scale businesses, and support the state’s business community,” said Ralph LaRossa, Chair of Choose New Jersey and Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer of PSEG. “Fifteen years marks a significant milestone for our organization, and I am proud of the impact Choose New Jersey continues to make by bringing business to our state and through expansion efforts around the world. We look forward to working in partnership with Governor Sherrill and her administration to advance the state’s economic priorities in the years ahead.”

Notable projects from the year include:

  • Jersey City-based biopharmaceutical company Celltrion expanded its domestic presence by acquiring Eli Lilly’s pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Branchburg, strengthening New Jersey’s biopharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing base.
  • CoreWeave, a cloud computing leader based in Livingston, priced its initial public offering (IPO) at $40 per share, one of the largest tech listings in recent years, and acquired property at the Northeast Science and Technology Center (NEST) in Kenilworth, supporting the growth of New Jersey’s technology and AI ecosystem.
  • Legendary film studio and distributor Paramount Global signed a 10-year lease at 1888 Studios in Bayonne, further cementing New Jersey’s position as a hub for film and television production.

Elevating New Jersey’s profile through strategic, high-impact campaigns and online updates was a major focus for Choose New Jersey this year. This effort included building a digital asset library showcasing business leaders who live, work, and invest in New Jersey to be used in advertisements and digital imagery. Choose New Jersey also advanced its “This is New Jersey” advertising campaign by targeting decision-makers in key industries with industry-specific campaigns. These include:

  • This is New Jersey campaign – Significantly expanded the reach of the state’s flagship business attraction initiative, delivering millions of targeted digital impressions to key industry decision-makers and substantially increasing engagement across platforms.
    • In Q4 2025, ThisIsNewJersey.com achieved a 166.7% year-over-year increase in site views, a 120.71% increase in active users, and a 344.9% increase in average engagement time, demonstrating strong resonance with executives evaluating New Jersey for investment and expansion.
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) – Advanced the second phase of a 2024 initiative targeting top global AI leaders, achieving 30% higher engagement in 2025.
  • Film and television studio investments – Promoted studio investments in New Jersey by Netflix, Lionsgate, and Paramount through digital campaigns and a presence at the Cannes Film Festival, and, in collaboration with the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission and the Governor’s Office, created a dedicated issue of Variety about New Jersey’s film strengths.
  • Reproductive healthcare – Collaborated with the New Jersey Department of Health to highlight the state’s strong protections for reproductive rights and opportunities for out-of-state providers to learn, train, and practice at leading research institutions and hospitals. 

In 2025, Choose New Jersey conducted Governor-led economic missions to the Gulf Arab States, India, Mexico, and California. These missions resulted in the signing of 20 Memoranda of Understanding, strengthened cultural, economic, and educational partnerships, and secured new investment and job opportunities for residents across the state.

Choose New Jersey celebrated its 15th year of advancing New Jersey’s economic growth in 2025. Since its founding in 2010, Choose New Jersey has delivered $13.8 billion in capital investment, helped create and retain 41,500 jobs, and assisted 536 companies in expanding operations across the state.

Choose New Jersey is positioned for record-breaking economic impact in 2026. The organization will leverage the global spotlight of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ to position New Jersey as a premier destination for business expansion and investment. In partnership with Governor Sherrill’s administration, the organization will focus on turning heightened global visibility into new opportunities, expanding marketing initiatives, and elevating New Jersey’s presence on the world’s stage.
