17 from New Jersey make 2020’s Fortune 500

The 2020 Fortune 500 list features 17 companies from the Garden State. The annual list of most profitable companies in the U.S. is based upon 2019 revenue. The 500 that made this year’s list represent two-thirds of the U.S. economy, with $14.2 trillion in revenue.
Notable moves of New Jersey companies on the list include Burlington Stores, which experienced the biggest jump, climbing 27 places to rank No. 424. The Burlington-based retailer saw its revenues increase by 9.3 percent to total $7.286 billion.
Also moving up by 27 places was Camden headquartered Campbell Soup Co., which now ranks at No. 322. The soup company experienced a 14.1 percent gain in revenue clocking in at $9.9 billion.
New Brunswick-based Johnson & Johnson kept its same spot from last year, and is the leader on the list of Garden State companies ranking at No. 35 with revenue of $82.59 billion.
Parsippany’s PBF Energy moved down 12 spots and now sits at No. 69 with a 9.9 percent decrease in revenue.
Roseland-headquartered ADP, on the other hand, climbed 12 spots to No. 227 with a 6.4 percent revenue increase.
