Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU)
Founded in 2012, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) was the first new medical school in New Jersey in 35 years and remains the only four-year MD-granting medical school in South Jersey. The school has since become a leading institution dedicated to advancing medical education, research, and healthcare access for New Jersey residents.
CMSRU graduated its charter class in 2016, with students securing residency placements at top programs across the country. Today, the school continues to expand, with more than 460 medical students currently enrolled.
Located in Camden, CMSRU operates from a state-of-the-art, 200,000-square-foot, six-story facility and is affiliated with Cooper University Health Care, the region’s leading provider of comprehensive health services. Through this partnership, CMSRU remains at the forefront of medical education and patient care, preparing the next generation of physicians to meet the evolving healthcare needs of South Jersey and beyond.
