Essex County is New Jersey’s most populous county and the home of Newark, the State’s largest city. The County is a rich hub for commerce, culture, transportation, and educational institutions. Newark Liberty International Airport, part of the busiest airport system in the United States, the Port of New York and New Jersey, the busiest port on the East Coast, and Newark Penn Station, a major transportation hub served by Amtrak, are also in Essex County.
