Edison Mayor To Accompany NJ Governor On Economic Mission to India

EDISON, NJ – Edison Mayor Sam Joshi will embark on a trip to India, along with NJ Gov. Phil Murphy, the Mayor’s office announced.
The trip is part of the New Jersey India Economic Mission, coordinated and overseen by Choose New Jersey.
Beginning in New Delhi, this mission aims to strengthen business relations between India and New Jersey alongside a series of comprehensive briefings and discussions.
The mission will delve into critical topics that define the current economic landscape, including trade scenarios, socio-economic challenges, strategic priorities, technological advancements, and more.
Joshi expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to engage with government officials and executives of major corporations looking to invest in New Jersey.
“I am proud Edison is being considered for strategic expansion and potential partnerships. As we move into an artificial intelligence era, this mission has a direct impact to Edison’s economy. We are looking to attract major corporations here,” Joshi said. “Our local economy, technological advancements, and educational opportunities will all benefit from this mission.”
According to Murphy’s office, the trip is not paid for by taxpayers.
