Bayer Healthcare worked with Choose New Jersey to establish its U.S. headquarters in New Jersey — a natural place to expand, as the state has a long history as a hub for the pharmaceutical industry. Bayer, which is based in Leverkusen, Germany, and is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, consolidated its offices to a 94-acre campus in Whippany, New Jersey, in 2013. It previously had operations in Morristown, Montville, Wayne, and Tarrytown, New York. The environmentally friendly campus includes 700,000 square feet of office space and state-of-the-art technology.
