11 NJ Companies Make Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500

Eleven New Jersey companies are listed on Deloitte’s 26th annual Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in North America based on percentage revenue growth over three years. The highest company on the list, at No. 52, it Amicus Therapeutics Inc, a Cranbury-based biotechnology firm focused on the treatment of rare diseases. It grew revenues 3,576% from 2016 to 2019. Next on the rankings is No. 79 OwnBackup, a data recovery, protection and information security firm in Englewood Cliffs that grew sales 1,486%. Visual Lease, a software concern in Woodbridge, came in at No. 167 while Momentum Solar, an energy tech in South Plainfield, is No. 177. According to Paul Krieger, Deloitte’s managing partner for New Jersey, “It’s encouraging that we are growing a technology sector that represents several of the key areas driving the economy’s future, such as healthcare, energy, data security, software and more. We are developing a critical mass that can strengthen our community’s resiliency for uncertain times while also laying the foundation for long-term success.” Looking at how the results netted across the country, the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) had the second most companies on the list, at 13%, while Silicon Valley was first at 20%. New England was third at 7% while Greater Washington DC and Los Angeles tied for fourth at 6%. Overall, the 2020 Technology Fast 500 achieved revenue growth ranging from 175% to 106,508%, with a median of 450%.
